In a landmark event symbolizing youth empowerment and transnational collaboration, the Unemployed Youths Association of Nigeria (UYAN) officially presented a Letter of Appointment to Ms. Uchenna Perpetual Arinze, a UK-based Nigerian citizen, as its newly appointed Liason in the United Kingdom.
The presentation, which took place at the national office of the UYAN murjanatu house Maitama Abuja , marked a significant milestone in UYAN’s vision of expanding its influence and partnerships beyond Nigerian borders. The event brought together a powerful gathering of changemakers and youth advocates led by Ambassador Kingsley Okpara, Convener of the AU Agenda 2063 Assembly, alongside Ambassador Ben Joel Stephen, Ambassador Mustafa, Prince Chimezie and other notable figures committed to pan-African progress.
Ms. Arinze, with a track record of leadership and a passion for youth development, was formally entrusted with the responsibility of representing UYAN’s interests in the UK. In a detailed letter signed by Comrade Syvester Ugochukwu Emeana, director of UYAN, she was charged with promoting UYAN’s vision, building strategic partnerships, mobilizing resources, and serving as a vital link between Nigerian youths in the UK and the organization back home.
“This is more than an appointment. It’s a call to service—a mandate to represent the aspirations of millions of unemployed Nigerian youths striving for a better future,” said Comrade Emeana during the presentation.
The assembly emphasized the importance of diaspora engagement in addressing youth unemployment and promoting innovation, inclusion, and sustainable development. With this appointment, UYAN takes a bold step toward aligning local action with global vision, while opening new channels for cooperation and advocacy in the international arena.
As Ms. Arinze assumes this role, expectations are high—and rightly so. Her appointment signals renewed energy for creating tangible opportunities for Nigerian youths at home and abroad and serves as a blueprint for other youth-focused organizations striving for global impact.
Congratulations once again to Ms. Uchenna Perpetual Arinze. The future begins now.
