About 21 Orphanage home, housing over 2000 children benefited from Plateaus state Government palliative measures to cush the effect of hunger amidst coronavirus(COVID-19)pandemic lockdown.

The flag-off distribution of palliative items held at Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) warehouse in Bukuru, Jos South LGA.

Presenting the items, chairman palliative Committee and deputy Governor of plateau state, Prof. Sonni Tyoden warned that the items should be giving to target beneficiaries.

He revealed that " we are starting with some segment of beneficiaries such as orphans, disabled and widows respectively".

While the second phase of palliative distribution focus on 5 household in every polling unit across the state, of which the items will be transfer to local government, from there to wards level and then dawn to polling unit.

Tyoden also disclosed that the palliative is food items based no money included!

He said those who are under Federal Government social investment programme, which recently received twenty thousand Naira cash each and salary earners are not going to benefited.

However, Plateau state coordinator of orphanage home, Mrs. Grace Solomon appreciate Governor Lalong's administration for identifying with them, pleading for more consideration as they over two thousand children under their care begging for attention.



She charged those who are yet to register with them to expedite action so that they can walk together.

The items distributed includes; rice, imdomie, Golden penny, Gala, eggs, Maggie, salt, Pepsi and bottle water.
