The management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Usman charged Christians world wide to emulate virtues of Jesus Christ amidst this year's 2020 Easter Celebration.

In a press statement issued by Philip Eplong, senior information officer, Usman said Easter is a period of sober reflection on the suffering of Jesus Christ who demonstrated love and humility to save mankind.

The Chairman further stated that Easter season is a period of sincere reflection, spiritual rejuvenation, adherence to Christian faith and also focues on alms giving.

He called on Christians to emulate Christ and work towards peace, progress and unity of the area.

Usman  also said the challenge of COVID-19 global pandemic necessitates for strong action towards the promotion of love, peace and harmony as the basic fabrics that holds the Local Government and the state together.

He equally appealed to citizens in the locality to imbibe the spirit of peaceful co-existence, tolerance and sacrifices as Christian celebrate Easter.

The council Boss further stressed that this Year's celebration comes at an increasingly challenging period, "a time of disruption of the very social fabric of the people as Coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the world forcing a lockdown amidst the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ."

The Chairman while wishing the good people of Jos North Local Government Area and beyond a happy Easter, reiterated his administration's resolve to work assiduously for the well being of the area.
