The candidate aspiring for House of Representative under the platform of Young People Party (YPP) for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, Dr. Danjuma Sanda, has expressed unwavering commitment and desire to effective representation if giving the mandate.
Sanda, a Medical Doctor and former chairman of Jos North local government council, acknowledged the constituency needs representative that is focused, consistent, competent, compassionate and coherent.
The candidate who unveiled his agenda for the constituents while speaking to newsmen over the weekend in Jos identify Plateau’s realities and challenges at the national level and advocate strengthen the state's interests before the Federal Government.
He emphasize determination towards open-door policy with regular town-hall meetings and grassroots engagement where constituents will actively participate in shaping legislative priorities, noting that "integrity, accountability, and sustainable development remains paramount."
He also promised policies anchored on respect for humanity and dignity, with focus on the poorest and most vulnerable as well as championing reconstruction, rehabilitation and reconciliation aimed at addressing years of bloodshed in parts of Bassa/Jos North.
"We cannot negotiate peace for the people; we must negotiate peace with them.Lobby for federal projects to upgrade and rehabilitate rural and urban roads. Improve primary healthcare delivery across the constituency.
"Intensify digital skills acquisition, agricultural support, and entrepreneurship for youths and women through legislative and community initiatives. Liaise with NGOs to upgrade educational facilities and promote technology-driven learning.
"Push for assessment of ecological devastation from decades of mining. Seek remediation and compensation for abandoned mining ponds, lost farmlands, and health impacts", Sanda stated
He expressed faith in God, confidence in people’s support, and partnership with the media for victory.
