However, there was a fake news on the Plateau social media making the rounds yesterday about a reported death in pankshin General Hospital due to Corona Virus
The said person’s name is Ibrahim, he was not coming from anywhere not to even talk of Kano. He was not in any car from Mangu or wherever.
He has been sick and bedridden for almost 3 months. He was in a village not even Dengi town and was taken to the village PHC clinic where he spend weeks.
They took him away from the clinic to traditional herbalist where he also spend weeks before he was discharged.
After some days at home, the sickness relapsed again and they now brought him to general hospital Dengi where he started experiencing difficulty with breathing, the hospital complained that they don’t have oxygen and then recommended that he should be taken to Pankshin General hospital. Upon reaching the hospital in Pankshin, they suspected corona because of the difficulty in breathing. The relatives explained that he has been bedridden for months even before the coming of corona, but the hospital insisted on taking precautions and called NCDC who came and took his sample. It was at that point that information leaked at Pankshin that a corona patient was brought from Dengi. Eventually, he died.
The hospital then insisted that all precautionary measures had to be observed with the corpse since the result for the test wasn’t out yet.
He was taken and buried in Dengi with a protective body bag and hospital staff who attended to him isolated.
His result came out and he was negative of the virus.
As it stands now Plateau has not recorded any case of Covid19 death
