Qua’an-Pan LGC in Plateau State has started repatriation of 460 almajiris to their respective States, as directed by Governor Simon Bako Lalong, in accordance with the resolutions of the Northern Governors’ Forum; ordering the repatriation of all Almajiris to their States of origin for onward reunion with their families; due to the prevailing cases of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Local Government 5-man Committee on repatriation of all Almajiris stated this while presenting their report of findings and logistics framework to the Executive Chairman Quaan -Pan LGC, Hon. Isaac Kyale Kwallu FCIA, FCIPMA; at the Local Government Secretariat, Ba’ap.

Chairman of the Committee, who is the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Jama’atu Nasri Islam  (JNI) Quaan-Pan LGA, Mallam Nasir Lawal disclosed that the total number of non-indigenous almajiris from the 20 Wards visited is 460. He said 291 are from Bauchi, 94 from Kano and 75 from Jigawa State.

Mallam Lawal also stated that; “Those from other States will be transported to their respective States first, before the indigenous ones are taken to their respective Local Government Areas, while those within the locality will go to their respective homes or parents, in that order.”

Recall a 5-man Committee, saddled with the responsibility of repatriation of all almajiris, enforcement of the band on street hawking and public enlightenment on COVID-19 Pandemic was inaugurated by Executive Chairman Qua’an-Pan LGC, Hon. Isaac Kyale Kwallu FCIA, FCIPMA, through his deputy, Hon. Abdulmalik Haruna Yusuf, on April 28, 2020.

Other members of the Committee include, Yusuf Palas, Abubakar Salihu, Alh. Sha’aban Kwa and Mal. Bilya Kurgwi.
