Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau, the Management Committee Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council, Plateau State has assured farmers in the Local Government of early and effective distribution of fertilizer as the 2020 cropping season has set in. He gave the assurance in Jos, on Tuesday when he featured as a guest on a live chat at KTFM 103.9. Speaking during the discussion, Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau promised equitable distribution of the fertilizer to farmers, promising that the era of diverting subsidised fertilizer to the detriment of farmers is over. 'He said the Council has set all necessary mechinery in place to ensure the procurement and distribution of fertilizer to farmers across the twenty electoral wards of Barkin-Ladi Local Government by ensuring the fertilizer gets to the directly to the farmers'. While answering questions on farmer/herders crises, the Chairman said his administration has made deliberate effort by ensuring a fostered relationship between the farmers and herders and promised to continually engaged the two groups in interactive sessions that will further enhance their relationship and enable them see reason why they should co-exist in peace with one another. Mandyau said, his regime is desirous in strengthening border checks in other to curtail community spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic, as well as the protection of lives and properties of Barkin-Ladi citizens.
