The Management Committee Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau has reinterieted his determination to defend and protect the people of the Local Government Area, saying the security of the people remain his top priority and his administration will ensure policies that will bring lasting solutions to the security challenges in Barkin-Ladi.

Hon. Mandyau made this known at the occasion of two years memorial and Thanksgiving service of victims of 23-06-2018 Gashish massacre at Nghar village on Sunday.

The Management Committee Chairman, applauded the people of Nghar for their being organized even in the face of the crises. "I appreciate the way you people organized yourselves after the June attack. Out of the 36 villages that were displaced as the result of the attack, some villages scattered but you found yourselves in one of the 12 IDP camps in the state. Even when Government concluded plans to relocate the IDPs to their ancestral homes, you are the second to be relocated. Count it joy that since your return home in December, no ugly incidence have been recorded. My determination is to defend and protect the people of Barkin-Ladi, the security of the people remain my top priority and my administration will ensure policies that will bring lasting solutions to the security challenges we are faced with." - Mandyau said.





Da Gwom Rwei Gwol, Da Edward Gyang Mashat in his Goodwill message said the people have reason to thank God. He said "God is wonderful, he understands your plight and therefore send one of you as the Management Committee Chairman of Barkin-Ladi at the very critical moment that you need help. Hon. Mandyau had shown capacity in the management of the security situation of Barkin-Ladi. His Royal Highness recounted how he also escape same kind of attack at Lobiring,  noting that, a small Toyota car conveyed over 13 person's out of the attacked community."

During a fundraising by the community, the Management Committee Chairman, Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau donated a whole sum of *ONE Million naira (1,000,000.00)* to support the community on the proposed fencing of the graveyard where 86 victims of the June, 23rd- 2018 crises are buried.

A community leader Mr Bangai who appreciated the Chairman on behalf of the Nghar people said, what a delight it was for all of us here at Nghar, we are blessed with your donation. May the Lord reward you richly for remembering the poor and destitute with your bequest! We are really grateful.

Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau thereafter held an interactive session with stakeholders from his home electoral ward of Gindi-Akwati. He said he was home for the remembrance service and wanted use the opportunity to interact with the people on the best way to best way to move the ward forward under his administration.

The interactive meeting drew attendance from various tribal communities in the ward which includes; Hausa/Fulani, Berom, Mwagavuel. All the communities resolved to strengthen the existing relative peace being enjoined by living together as brothers.
