The Plateau State Microfinance and development Agency Facilitated a training of Trainers (TOT) for some selected youths to serve as Desk Officers in the 17  local government Areas on Agricultural Small& Medium Enterprises investment Sche me. The programme is an initiative of the Central Bank of Nigeria and NIRSAL Microfinance Bank for which PLASMIDA is the only accredited state agency to provide for the access of the loan.

His Excellency the executive Governor of Plateau State ,Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong approved the training to include 500 persons per Local Government of the State.

MSME's on the Plateau and globally were and still negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which has slowed the economic growth and development of their sources of livelihoods and continuous existence.
This intervention will provide businesses with increased capacity and as such stimulate the economy through the provision of employment.

PLASMIDA carefully selected 5 persons cutting across the 17 LGAs of the state that will serve as Desk Officers to drive the entire process of the loan application.

The DG of the Agency Mr Haggai Gutap explained to the participants on their tasks and told them thevaim of the training is to enable them train others in their respective LGAs and it's targeted at  providing over 50,000 jobs across the state in other to drive the economy despite the adverse effects of the pandemic.

The DG therefore charged them to be hardworking, committed to their duties and be good ambassadors of PLASMIDA.
