The Sun Reporter Emerges Plateau Correspondents' Chapel Chairman

Mr. Gyang Bere of the Sun newspaper has emerged brand new chairman of correspondents' Chapel, Nigerian Union of Journalists(NUJ), Plateau State Council.
Bere's victory was decided by 56 members of the chapel in a keenly rerun elections that saw Gyang Bere poll 33 votes to edge Samson Omale of Silver bird communication who scored 23 votes.
You would recall the duo got 27 votes each in the earliest schedule elections of Wednesday 22nd July, 2020.
Other positions elected are; Douglas Francis of CORE TV who scored 28 votes against Agada Okopi of TVC 26 to became Vice Chairman of the chapel. While Martha Nyam Azi of News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) defeated Bilkisu Kambai of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria(FRCN) to emerged treasurer.
However, Pam Musa of New Telegraph;financial secretary, John Farinola of Channels Television; assistant secretary and Jude Dangwam of Daily Asset; Auditor were all unopposed as position of the Secretary of the chapel remains pending.
Receiving the symbol of authority by the outgoing chairman of the chapel, Aminu Idegu, Gyang Bere vowed to run an inclusive governance devoid of sentiment.
He said politicking is gone, noting that there is no winner or loser as long as the elections is concern because Correspondents' chapel is one family.
He also assured of open door policy for the betterment of the chapel,journalism profession and the society as whole.
