The Honourable Member Representing the good people of Mikang, Qua'anPan, Shendam Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longgap, earlier today distributed relief materials Worth millions of naira to his Constituents who were affected by rain storm, flood and heavy downpour recently.
The honourable member on arrival, headed straight to the Long Gamai's Palace to pay homage to the Chairman, Shendam traditional Council and the Long Gamai of Gamai Chiefdom, HRH. Miskoom Martin Shaldas (III). He later went ahead to distribute the relief materials at his Constituency office in Shendam LGA.
Hon. Komsol amidst cheers and commendations from the mammoth crowd said, following the outcry from his constituents who were affected by the natural disasters, he had presented same to the Federal government through the National Emergency Management Agency *(NEMA)* for consideration; after which they have responded swiftly and given the materials for onward distribution.
While revealing that he has also deep his hands into his pocket to compliment the effort of the Federal government through the *NEMA* , he urged the beneficiaries to utilise the gesture well and also share with others who are not previleged to get, as it will not reach everyone. He pleaded with those who could not get at all to be patience as other good things are also in the pipeline.
Earlier in his speech, the Long Gamai of Gamai Chiefdom, Miskoom Martin Shaldas III, ably represented by the Madakin Shendam, Miskoom Kenneth K. Kwapsan, thanked and applauded the Member for always coming home to identify with his people in both hard and good times. He also asked Komsol not to be distracted by any circumstances but do more to justify the confidence repost in him.
Items distributed were; 12kg of 312 bags of rice, 312 bags of Garri and beans, 624 pieces of Mattrass and blankets, 158 pieces of nets, 600 bags of cements, 600 bundles of zincs, 100 cattons of roofing nails and 160 cattons of zinc nails.
The earlier announced benefiting communities were; Kalong, Derlit, Tingzet, Shimangkar, Ngwan Zam, Goesai, Dungkul, Jan, Gongvel of Shendam and Qua'an Pan LGAs respectively, while Kurung Lazai, parts of Pangshom, Kuka, Kwa, Lalin, Shamang, and Koetes of Shendam, Qua'an Pan and Mikang LGAs were also incomperated in order for fair distributions of the materials.
Responding on behalf of the benefiting communities, the "Long Men Kat" of Shimangkar of Shendam LGA, Miskoom Maurice Manu thank the member for the kind gesture and steadfastness in his duty and also pray God to bless him with wisdom and strength to do more.
Some groups who came in solidarity because of the quality and good leadership style of the honourable member were; his Alma mata, the Pankshin Old Boys Association (POBA) and the Youths for Good Governance.
