The running attempts by some forces from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Plateau Southern Zone chapter, to bring down the member representing Mikang/Qua'an Pan/ Shendam federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Alphonsus Longap Komsol, have taken an onslaught dimension with an attempt to suspend the legislator from the party in his ward, but faced stiff resistance as leaders of the party passed vote of confidence on him.

Speaking on phone to a card carrying member of the APC from his ward, Pangshoom, who preferred anonymity alleged that there was a grant ploy to call the ward EXCO for a meeting, after which their names and signatures will be collected and attached to a purported written letter suspending him from the party, and will be addressed to the local government, zonal office, state office and the national headquarters of the APC.

The source said on getting the hint of the plotted conspiracy, the EXCO quickly called for a meeting and passed a vote of confidence on their legislator whom he asserted did remarkably well in his first year in office.

In the letter dated 12th August, 2020, titled "Vote of Confidence" signed by the Pangshoom Ward chairman and his Secretary, Jonathan Katfung and Sylvanus Yenlong respectively, and addressed to the national acting Chairman of the APC through the local government, zonal, and state chairmen of the party, the EXCO reiterated its support for Hon Komsol whom they said is representing them well. They said, "The members of EXCO Pangshoom Ward do hereby pass a vote of confidence on our most esteem illustrious son and an effective leader, Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longap, member representing Mikang/Shendam/Qua'an Pan federal constituency, for the unprecedented developmental strides exhibited just within a year in office.

"We are proud of him and urge him to ignore unnecessary attention seekers and concentrate undeterred on the good work he has started and is doing for the benefit of the larger majority.

" We are solidly behind you through thick and thin."
