"As Jos 2020 trade fair  holds 15th October to Nov 1 "


President of Plateau Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PLACCIMA) Mr Bulus Dareng,has said  that  it  is ever ready to contribute its quota to   help Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs) in  the state  over come  the effect of the COVID 19  pandemic. 



Dareng  made this known on Thursday when  he led   other members of the organisation alongside the Chief Executive 0fficer CEO of    Anista  Marketing and Events  Ltd Bolcit  Barshep to pay  a courtesy call on the  Commissioner of Commerce Hon Abe Aku to brief the state government of the forthcoming 2020 Jos trade fair .


Dareng said that MSME are strategic and essential for accelerating  growth in the country .


He said that they are always willing to partner with the state government  in order to help  boost bussiness in the state .



Anista  Marketing CEO Bolcit  Barshep , who also spoke at the occasion said that the Jos  Trade Fair has been  slated to hold from  15th of October to 1st of November 2020  


 

She  said that all COVID_19 health protocols will be duly observed during the 17days trade fair  exhibition.



Barshep  pointed out that the  multi sectoral nature of the annual Jos Trade fair makes it unique in promoting commerce and tourism potentials in the state. 


She said that the retail nature of products showcased yearly attracts agents, distributors, traders, importers and exporters.


In her words " The 2020 edition with the the THEME: Trade Fairs: a platform for Promoting MSME's in a Challenging Economy is apt in assisting network opportunities especially to cope with the effect of the pandemic. "


She assured that the organizers with the guidance of the COVID_19 pandemic team will ensure exhibitors and visitors shop in a safe environment.



"We would continue to contribute our quota in this challenging economic period, specifically in areas of engaging youths in Plateau state productively.”


Barshep further said  she is optimistic that the forthcoming 2020 Jos trade fair would provide a good business platform for people of the state to showcase their products and also help to boost the economy of the state .”




She said that the fair was a massive opportunity for the people of Plateau to showcase all hidden treasures to open avenues for economic growth and development.


“We also want to use the fair to showcase made-in-Plateau products.



She said that synergy with relevant security apparatus had been fortified to ensure safety of lives and property within and outside the venue.


“The state government is fully involved to support the security efforts; nothing will be left to chance,” she said. 



 Barshep also hailed the Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong for his support at all times and assured investors and business owners wishing to operate in the state of safety, friendly atmosphere and enabling environment.


“Plateau State still remains the destination for business ,she added .



  

Commissioner for Commerce Abe Aku ,  who spoke earlier commended the Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong for his efforts at boosting business in the state .


He said the state government is partnering with PLACCIMA and Anista marketing to make the 2020  trade fair a huge success .


He said the Lalong led adminstration is always ready  to support and promote programmes that would improve the quality of life and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state. 


Other persons who witnessed the occasion  are Chief Simon Tangni from PLACCIMA, Ngo Yop Gbadamosi_ PLACCIMA , the  Permanent Secretary   Ministry of Commerce  ,a director in the ministry  amongst other persons .
