The Federal College of Education Pankshin is to partner with the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports to provide logistics for the resuscitation of the Middle and Long Distance Races in the Country.


To achieve this objective, the College has offered to accommodate all Athletes and Coaches as well as provide facilities for indoor training and exercises during the period of Camping.


The Provost of the College Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat made this declaration when he received a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports on assessment visit to the Institution.


He said the College also has all it takes in terms of Manpower from the Physical and Health Education Department which has qualified Lecturers with Higher Degrees who will be supportive to meeting desired goals for the Ministry.


Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Youths  and Sports for considering the College as a centre to improve Middle and Long Distance Races in the Country and pledged every encouragement in that regard.


In her remarks, leader of the delegation and Deputy Director in the Ministry who stood in for the Honourable Minister of Youths and Sports, Mrs. Maria Wophill said restoring Middle and Long Distance Races was now a priority of the Ministry which Pankshin provides the routes for training. 


She expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the Federal College of Education Pankshin which will provide comfort and other logistics for athletes to response positively to training.


Mrs. Maria Wophill thanked the Management of the Federal College of Education Pankshin for the warm reception and the willingness to partner with the Ministry to boost distance running in the Country.


Registrar of the College Homsuk, Elizabeth Yiltong in a vote of thanks appreciated the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports for the confidence it has in the institution and assured of total commitment to achieving these objectives.
