“A politician imitates the devil, as the devil imitates a cannon: wheresoever he comes to do mischief, he comes with his backside towards you” – John Webster.
The call for the sack of the Management Committee Chairman of Jos South LGC, Hon. Dachung Yohanna Choji by faceless groups known as; Jos South United Action for Change (JSUAC) and Jos South Progressive Minds has been rejected by other patriotic groups in the LGA.
While the two groups had staged different sponsored press conferences on the demand that Jos South Council Boss be sack, majority of other Progressives groups in the LGA has condemned the demand for his sack saying its mischievous and irresponsible.
Describing the demand for sack of the Council chair as an absurd, Jos South Progressive Youth Network and other pro Dachung's groups in the LGA, said that the allegation that the Management Committee Chairman is a non performer is baseless.
A statement jointly issued by the Pro-Dachung's groups said that it is unfair to cast aspersion on the integrity of the Management Committee Chairman without evidence.
Comr. Benjamin had replied the anti Dachung's groups calling for the sack of the Council Boss to substantiate their claim with facts and evidence stressing that the faceless groups cannot call for the sack of the Chairman on alleged allegations until such allegation is proven.
The groups which opposed call for the chairman's sack include Jos South Youths for Good Leadership Initiatives (JSYGLI); Progressive Youth Mandate (PYM); United Middle belt Movement (UMM); Youth for Good Governance (YGG) agreed at a meeting that, the allegations of Jos South United Action for Change and Jos South Progressive Minds are baseless.
The Jos South Coordinator of Youths for Good Leadership Initiatives, Comr David Gyang stated that, the two faceless groups must be up to mischief for making the call for sack of the Chairman, maintaining that the affected groups must produce evidence to buttress their allegations.
In his own contribution, Hon. Dusu, Jos South LGA Coordinator of Jos South Youths for Good Governance (JSYGG) stated that, Hon. Dachung Yohanna Choji was appointed by Governor Simon Bako Lalong after securing the party's ticket as a candidate for the Local Goverment election thus, there is no merit in the call for his sack by the faceless groups.
In a subsequent joint release, the groups condemned as baseless, reckless and apparently self-seeking call by Jos South United Action for Change (JSUAC) and its associated group, Jos South Progressive Minds for the sack of the Chairman, Hon. Dachung Yohanna Choji.
According to the Pro-Dachung support groups, “we believe that the wholly undemocratic attitude of Jos South United Action for Change and its sister group, Jos South Progressive Minds only became manifest as they sought to impose their evil design not only on Hon. Dachung, but on the majority of the people in the Local Goverment Area who have no complaints about the performance of the Chairman.”
The Pro groups therefore urged members of the public, particularly the Governor to disregard the planned, orchestrated, dramatized and false protestation of the faceless groups, saying “we believe that their design is to look for a replacement that will be ready to fund their bills and that of their sponsors using the council's resources".
