Professor Nora Daduut

A chieftain of ruling party, All Progressive Congress,APC, Senator Victor Lar has express optimism that it's candidate Professor Nora Daduut will emerge victorious in the scheduled October 31st, 2020, Plateau South Senatorial by-election.

Speaking to press Saturday, Senator Lar who is the Chairman campaign council for Professor Daduut, said "we have a sitting Governor who is APC, who is from that zone. So, if results from the Governorship election is indicative enough for the popularity of the party in which APC won convincingly in four out of the six Local Government.

Secondly, the people of the Southern zone are politically conscious, enlightened, in fact that is the only zone where at the time in the days of the SDP, SDP was the party that was leading, a dominant party on Plateau and because there was a fall out in the primaries and the basis of the emergence of candidate some members of that party decamped to another party contested and won which attested to their popularity.

"I am saying the voters are there capable of making their choices best on the principle of credibility. We have a good product, Professor Nora Daduut. You can't stand the pedigree of professor Nora and the candidates of the other parties.

"Professor Nora is our product and she is credible. As we go round the wards, we have already got invitations that every ward we would be visiting, we will be harvesting decampees. So many people are crossing over.

"Don't forget, as we are talking some of this party fighting us are still in court as a result of the outcome of their Congresses. So, we have a house that is intact. A house divided they say cannot stand, so they cannot stand", Lar stated.

On accusations by opposition party, PDP, concerning buying of voters cards, Lar opines that the provisions of the electoral act are very clear. Procurement of voters cards is a punishable offense under the electoral act. We challenge them if they have evidence let them take it up. Let the law take it cause if they have evidence!

According to the party secretary Bashir Musa Sati " this is a dying declaration. PDP they have no where to hold unto and they start their usual campaign of blackmail and character assassination. The APC is the party built on principles and we are totally reliance on the electoral act. We have never for ones been caught cheating or rigging of any election on the Plateau.

"Nevertheless, that is not going to deter us. If they are eager to see us let meet at the poll. We will not be intimidated or carry away". Sati concluded.

The campaign Council which has about 9 sub committees will kick start their activities Monday 12th October,2020, with a town hall meeting in Wase LGA, then other LGAs will follow.

Campaign train said would enter all the political wards of the six LGA in the zone, as grand finale of the campaign is scheduled for 28th October, 2020 in Shendam Local Government Area which happens to be a headquarters of Southern zone.
