Senator  representing Plateau South in the National Assembly Prof. Nora Ladi Dadu’ut  in collaboration with Border Communities Development Agency  at the weekend provided grants to over 150 youths and women of her constituency .


Our correspondent reports that  Professor Nora Daduut is the first female senator  in the history of Plateau  and   has been working round the clock to empower women since she got elected  .


Speaking at the occasion in Shendam , Prof Nora said she would continue to empower the downtrodden in the society .


"It is with great delight that I welcome you to this  event, the training and provision of grants for our teeming  supporters for the good of our communities."




She said  the event is a completion of what had commenced earlier on, we are only concluding the remaining part. It was initiated by my predecessor the late  Ignatius Datong Longjan  who went to be with Lord a year ago .


She said that the essence of governance was to impact on the lives on the people, and urged elected officials to always live to that expectation.

“There is need for us (elected officials) to empower our people, especially youths and women; we are supposed to bring dividends of democracy to the people




She said that the role of the youth and women in the society cannot be overemphasized.


" They do everything possible to ensure sustainability in governance, Politics, economy, agriculture and more. The support we have enjoyed so far had remained overwhelming and can only be rewarded by the Almighty. 


She said that On her  part as Senator she will do her  best to ensure that the people of the zone  enjoy more dividends of democracy.


Nora thanked Governor Simon Lalong  for his untiring efforts at ensuring that the  people benefit from government. 


In her words "The latest of which is his ensuring the  approval, along with takeoff grant for the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Shendam,  It is our sincere prayer that the good Lord will continue to help and keep him. 


To the  beneficiaries , she implored them to take the  training serious and do their  best to ensure that the  are found faithful in the little. 


"While it may not all that  will be benefitting today, we shall continue to do our very best to get more for our people because you deserve the very best.


" I would like to use this medium to encourage you to participate more in the activities of the government of the day, as it stands to do us more. Do well to revalidate your membership with our ever wining party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). 


She said that Non member can register too, the party is ready to have you all.



On  COVID 19 , Prof Nora  encouraged  all to take the safety  measures very serious and obey government’s advisory on the virus and remain supportive.


" Let us maintain good hygiene and keep our surroundings clean.


Security which is everybody’s business expects us to remain alert and report any suspicious movements to security agents.


" Government at all levels is committed to securing the lives and property of its citizens." We therefore must continue to support government.
