Head coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Abdu Maikaba has expressed optimism that his team will finished tops at the end of the season.

Maikaba stated this at a post match briefing shortly  after his team forced struggling FC Ifeanyi Uba of Nnewi to a goaless draw in a week thirteen encounter played on Sunday.

A statement signed by Albert Dakup

Media Officer,Plateau United Football Club, Jos said the  head coach  explained that the season is still young for any team to lay claim of winning the league  stressing that he is confident his team will move out of its present position to the top half  of the table where it rightly  belongs.

" Am satisfied with the performance of my boys today. Though, we came here with the intention of  winning , but a number of factors , especially the hot weather affected my boys  which also forced  us to change our tactics during  the second half.

" Am very confident of my team's chances of moving up the ladder. We will continue to work hard to realised our objectives at the end of the season.

On the reason why he kept some of experience players such as Daniel Itodo and Uche Onwuasonaya on the bench until the second half ,  Maikaba said it was for tactical reasons as  Daniel Itodo is making his first appearance of the season after struggling with a recurring groin injury that kept him out of the team since the middle of last season.

Plateau United who started the season on a shaky note,  are presently occupying the fifteen position on the league table with a game at hand against Rivers United which will be played on Wednesday at the Jos international stadium.
