A non governmental organizations under the auspices of positive Women Development Initiative(POWI) and Victor Diellat Memorial Foundation(VDMF) has reach out to vulnerable women in Qua'anPan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The gesture is in collaboration with AIDS Healthcare Foundation which provides funding for the initiative.
However, POWI and VDMF philanthropic came exactly a day when women are being celebrated internationally.
You would recall the international women day 2021 had a theme" Choose to Challenge".
According to donors (POWI and VDMF) "We were to provide COVID 19 palliative support to widows, women living with HIV, indigent women and women with disabilities.
"We provided food staples like rice, beans, maize, palm oil and vegetable oil. We also provided Hand wash buckets with taps and reusable face masks".
The presentation of palliative held in Fujing, kwang district of Qua'anPan LGA, the Executive Director of VDMF, Barr.Jumai Henrietta Tadi said that in any crisis or pandemic, the women usually are more adversely affected and so it was impertinent to support them through this period of "Covid 19 pandemic to cushion some of the effects of the pandemic".
On his part, the Long Fogol, Mr. Cosmos Dabiet who represented the Four traditional rulers of the communities reached said they were grateful that such an opportunity was brought home to their mothers, daughters and sisters.
The monarch prayed urging other sons and daughters of the communities would emulate this gesture and do more to develop the communities.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the support package expressed gratitude and prayed for God to continue excelling the funders of the programme in their various endeavours.
The beneficiary women cut across kwa, fogol, fujing and kwang villages in Qua'anPan LGA.
