Governor Simon Lalong Presenting the symbol of authority to Ujah Anaguta Jos, Pozoh Johnson Jauro Magaji II

The Ujah of Anaguta Nation, His Royal Highness Pozoh Johnson Jauro Magaji (II) cried out to Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong to renovate the palace which is at the critical stage of decay in Jos

He said that the palace for long has being abandoned without adequate and genuine furnishing and is begging for attention.

The Monarch who made the passionate appeal on Thursday during his installation as "the Ujah Anaguta Jos and presentation of 1st class staff of office" by Governor Lalong, held at Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos the state capital.

According to him:" it may interest you to know that for forty-three years of my father reign, late Ujah operated from his personal residence. It was a period of great sacrifice, with so much pressure to his privacy and that of his immediate family members.

"He had hoped that the upgrade will be accompanied by a befitting palace. Though there were moves towards that direction, my father did not live long enough to see it come to fruition.

"I therefore, humbly crave your indulgence to intervene in the matter of renovating the palace in town, which at the moment is threatened by imminent decay as a result of inactivity", mentioned.

Pozoh Magaji (II) further opines that government consult widely and properly concerning the matters of the creation of districts in Jos North,  as such "this will not only give credence to the exercise, but the people will feel a sense of belonging. I assured you that every critical stakeholder will cooperate with you in this regard".

Management committee chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Usman commended ministry for local government and Chieftaincy affairs and the committee but that conducted the selection of new Ujah Anaguta for being fair and just to all the Princes.

Pozoh Johnson Jauro Magaji (II)  ascended the throne when his father Pozoh Jauro Magaji (I) answered the ancestral call as a result of protracted illness sometimes in March,2021.

He was born on 30th October, 1978, and obtained a Doctor of philosophy(PhD) in view, in political science with specialization on public administration.
