The lingering Chieftaincy tussle between the Tangle Nation and the Governor of Gombe State, Mohammadu Yahaya has taken a frightening dimension as the Tangale Community Development Association (TCDA), has threatened to institute legal action against the State Government over imposition.

The member board of trustee DDrDaniel Maddo who spoke to Journalists in Jos the state capital, Friday, on behalf of the Tangale people expressed disgust over the way and manner  Governor Yahaya is handling such a sensitive issue that may trigger genocide in the Tangale nation.

Maddo who is the Tsarki Zango Tangale and also a member of the 2014 CONFAB under President GoodLuck Jonathan amented that despite all the agitations and its subsequent rejection by Tangale kingmakers and its people on the controversial appointment of Mallam Danladi Sanusi Maishanu as the purported Mai Tangale by Governor Yahaya, the people of Tangale had no option than to institute a legal action to seek justice.

He argued that the appointment of Mallam Maishanu as the Mai Tangale was in flagrant violation of the newly enacted Chieftaincy law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) but the Governor went ahead and appointed Mallam Danladi Sunusi Mai Tangale against the wish of the people.
It would be recalled that the Tangale kingmakers voted in favour of Dr Musa Idris Maiyamba who got five votes against Danladi Maishanu who secured only two during the selection process.

Dr Maddo also warned that "Mallam Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba should henceforth, stop parading himself as the Mai Tangale in the interest of peace, tranquillity and good governance".

" The Tangale people are peace-loving and have decided to approach the judiciary in resolving the issues surrounding the Mai Tangale Stool.

"The judiciary been the last hope of a common man and we hope that the judiciary will ratify this injustice done to Tangale people", Maddo said.

He however noted that the utterances of the Governor of Gombe State do not incite other groups against the Tangale nation as this could lead to genocide.

He explained that in line with the Gombe State Chieftaincy law and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), declared that DDrMusa Idris Maiyamba is the duly elected and recognized 16th Mai Tangale.

He urged the Governor of Gombe State to lift the longest curfew in Nigeria imposed on the Tangale people in Biliri Local Government since 19th February 2021.

He also advised the Government to always use legitimate and lawful security agencies to maintain law and order in the state and avoid using (Yan Kalare), Hunters and other illegal vigilante groups.
