Hon. Shehu Bala Usman middle Flanked by CAN officials during a visit in Jos residence

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, says it will continue to support credible leaders in governance devoid of religious or ethnic sentiments.

CAN chairman Jos North Chapter Reverend Father Polycarp Gana stated this when he led the entire leadership in the area  comprising of the groups within the body to pay sallah homage to the Management Committee Chairman Shehu Usman at his residence in Jos. 

Father Gana told the Chairman that they were at his residence to celebrate and identify with him, saying "this is what is expected of people of different faiths during such  celebrations. 

The clergyman noted that CAN in Jos North is pleased with the inclusive leadership quality of Shehu Usman led administration, described him as a man who believes in the unity of all citizens.

He maintain that the Church will continue to promote the virtues of Unity and peaceful coexistence in all her activities  and congratulate  him on his emergence as the flagbearer of his Party ticket in the forthcoming October, 2021, Local Government election.

In a swift response Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Usman expressed gratitude to CAN for their solidarity on this year's  2021, Eid el kabir celebration.

Usman noted that his administration will continue to  strive hard to restore the lost glory of the area  where trust, unity and peaceful coexistence of citizens  thrives.

He assured the CAN officials of his administration's plan to partner religious institutions in the area to encourage youths to discard any act that would jeopardize their future.

He also appreciates the effort and collaboration of all the various security agencies that ensured hitch free eid el kabir celebration.

In another development the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Jos DCC women and Men fellowship led by Regina Tonpan and Yakubu Bamas as well as the leadership of  Christians Youth in Politics led by Mshelia Samson paid Salah homage to Jos North Council Boss, Shehu Usman.

 In their separate remarks they acknowledged that the Shehu Bala Usman led administration has identified with Churches, hence the need to celebrate with him in line with the Biblical injunction.

While reacting to the development, Usman identify the role of the church in  propagating the gospel of God and  assured his unflinching support and readiness to collaborate with them in achieving desired development.

 Meanwhile, friends, political associates and well wishers were assembled at Shehu Usman residence in Jos to celebrated with  him.
