The Chief coach of reigning champions Plateau united Abdu Maikaba said the team is working harder to finish the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2020/21 season in a respectable position.

Maikaba stated this on Sunday after bashing FC Ifeanyi Ubah 4-0 in match day 33 of the NPFL campaign season at New International Stadium Jos, Zaria Road.

Daniel Jackson scored in six minutes of first half before Oche Ochewechi, Mohammed Zulkifilu and Uche Onwuasonaya got their names in the score sheet in the second half to sealed maximum three points for the host Plateau United.

United are battling to secure forth position that will enable them the opportunity of playing at continental level next season.

According to Maikaba:" actually we look at our own standing on the log we discussed with the players, we have a very little or low chance of getting to the continent. We have to be realistic.

" But we discussed among ourselves because the position we are now is not respectable. We need to be respected, we need to go and win more games so that we finish the league in a very respectful position and that is the target", he revealed.

Coach of visiting team FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Uche Okagbue said they came with the expectation of securing three points that doesn't come to reality.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah who are battling relegation zone, but Okagbue is optimistic that the team not going on relegation next season.

Meanwhile, Plateau United are traveling to Lagos  midweek Wednesday to face MFM FC in another tedious encounter of match day 34 of the NPFL 2020/21.
