Corpses of those killed laying at the Plateau specialist hospital

It is another day of grieved and sorrow as arm Bandits suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked and killed no fewer than 35 persons in Yelwa Zangam community of Jos North Local Government Area.

The genocide was carried out on Tuesday evening at about 9pm where lives and properties worth millions of Naira where lost.

Our correspondent learned that about 16 people burnt beyond recognition while 17 were slaughtered by the assailants.

According to the eyewitnesses who spoke under condition of anonymity, say the fulani armed gunmen invaded the community at about 9pm on Tuesday  evening burning houses and shooting anyone on sight.


It was gathered that the attackers had disabled the bridge leading to the Anaguta community preventing any  access to help before launching their attacks.

The eyewitnesses also said several  entire families were burnt alive in their homes while others who sustained injuries are being treated in the hospital.

The corpses of those killed were deposited at the Plateau state specialist hospital.

The Plateau State Police Command mouthpiece, ASP Gabriel Ubah is yet to give details of the incident as at the time of filing this report.
