The Plateau eight District Church Council (DCC) fellowship of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), has handover relief materials for onward distribution to internal displaced persons (IDPs) of Irigwe Chiefdom in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The assorted relief materials presented to the affected communities includes; food items, clothes and cash.

Our correspondent gathered that over twenty nine (29,000) IDPs who are taking refuge at ECWA Bishara one Miango were been forced out from their abode as a result incessant attacks by the Fulani herdsmen.

You would recall about few weeks ago over communities in Irigwe land suffered unprovoked attack by Fulani militias in which over 80 people confirm dead, houses burnt down and farmlands destroyed which led to humanitarian crisis.


         
Relief materials

Presenting the items to affected persons in Miango on Monday, chairman of the eight DCC fellowship Rev. Ayuba Ashishe said they are there to comesorates and identify with the Irigwe land.

"What is happening is very pathetic and it is a clear indication that things are not going on well in Nigeria.

"We're not talking about politics but lives, and unfortunately many people were sent to their graves as a result of gross negligence by the security agents.

"The security agents are not proactive. Why most you until people are killed before you arrive to the scene despite intelligence reports. The security architecture is not longer fashionable.

"Now that there is a relaxation of curfew by the Government you have to be extra careful because the times are terrible." Rev. Ashishe mentioned.

While calling on Government to reform the Nigeria security settings, the clergymen admonished the victims remain resolute in prayers to God, noting that they are solemnly together with them to overcome the enemy.

Mr. Gastor Barrie, chairman relief committee revealed that since 2015 to date about 500 people were killed in Irigwe land.

He said so twenty nine thousand (29,000) IDPs were captured in the on going data verification.

He also lament continue encroachment of farm product by Fulani herders.

The DCC fellowship also visit and condole with with paramount ruler His Royal Highness, Rev. Ronku Aka Brra Nggwe Rigwe where the monarch solicit for continue prayers and encouragement on Irigwe nation.
