Experts charged youths across the length and breadth of Nigeria to avail themselves and tap on the existing opportunities in the agricultural sector, digital marketing and other sector of the economy.

They believed that young people are the biggest proponent of ideas, therefore, " it is high time for Nigerian youths to think outside the box by being innovative and creative in changing the narratives of their future endeavours as white collar jobs is no longer fashionable."

The experts make a clarion call when they featured as panelists in an interactive session with the youths as part of activity to mark 2021 International Youth Day celebration in Jos, Plateau state capital on Thursday.

The 2021 Youths Day celebration which was organized by a non governmental organization known as Young man Africa (YMA) in collaboration with Jos Town Ambassadors, had a theme " transforming food systems: youth innovation for human and planetary health".

The panelists lamented that the reason why Nigeria is experiencing increase in banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, Boko Haram and other social vices is as a result of " gross parental failure in the society".

"We must go back to our custom and tradition thought by our forefathers as the present generation relegated our core values system to the background".

Giving the insight on Young man Africa, YMA, the moderator David Onimisi stated that the organization was established in the year 2020 which has been engaged in charting out a better living condition for communities across Africa.

According to Onimisi:" as a non governmental organization inspired by the united Nations quest for providing opportunities for all peoples, especially the younger generation to make meaningful contribution in policy making and international development strategies".

You would recall that, international youth day was formed on 17th December, 1999, and celebrated on the 12th August, annually.

The aim is to recognize the efforts of young people all over the world in contributing towards the development of their immediate communities and by extension the enhancement of global society.
