Chando-Zrrechi (Tafi-Gana) in Bassa Local Government came under fresh attack last night (August 17th, 2021) by suspected Fulani herdsmen, leaving at least five dead, scores injured and four persons still missing.


In a press statement made available to Ace News Online signed by the Secretary of Irigwe Development Association, Mr Danjuma Auta Dicson, the National President of the Irigwe Youth Movement Association Comrade, Ezekiel Bini  confirmed the killings  in Jos on Wednesday saying that their corpses had been deposited at the mortuary.



According to the statement, the whereabouts of four other persons have  remained unknown after they were captured by the gummen.


Comrade Bini posited that the association were on their  way to meet the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong over the continued killings of their people in  Bassa communities despite the subsisting curfew.



 The Military Information Officer of the Operation Safe Haven, Major Ishaku Takwa, when contacted, was not immediately available for comment over the attacks.


As at the time of filing this report the security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the attack despite the fact that five bodies have been deposited in the morgue as a result of the attack.


This village is one of the villages previously razed by rampaging fulani invaders, sacking many villagers, killing innocent citizens and destroying houses of locals.
