Senator representing Plateau South in the National Assembly,  Prof. Dame Nora Daduut has condemned in strong terms the brutal attack in some communities that led to the destruction of lives, crops, farmland and properties in Northern parts of Plateau State.


Prof. Daduut in a press statement on Tuesday in Jos urged security agencies to respond swiftly to the security challenges.



" I task  security agencies to take all necessary measures to stop the deteriorating security situation in Bassa and Riyom Local Government Areas ."


" I  call on  security operatives to go after those attacking Innocent villagers   and  they should be made to   pay for their heinous actions ."



The Senator who commended Governor Simon Lalong for summoning a security meeting said that she is confident that the Lalong led  Government will engage all stakeholders in addressing the matter to bring an end to the unfortunate and unacceptable attacks on innocent citizens aimed at disrupting the peace of the affected areas and the State at large.


"I also commend  Governor Lalong  for   directing the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Peace Building Agency (PBA) to immediately go  to the affected communities to provide humanitarian assistance and sue for Peace."



Prof  Daduut who called for calm expressed her sympathy to the victims and their families.
