Bother by the increased security challenges ravaging the country, the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), have called on Government at all levels to intensify priority on intelligence gathering and used of technology in tackling the situation.

 ALPSPN express worried lingering crisis in Plateau and the inability of State Government to engage them in finding lasting solutions to insecurity despite being a professional body.

The association raised concern during their monthly meeting and presentation of national membership certificates to 9 Plateau State chapter registered members held in Jos, the state capital on Thursday.

Our correspondent observed that members of the association were engaged in a roundtable discussion titled: managing Plateau State unending ethno-religious crisis: private security views.

According to the chairman Plateau state chapter of ALPSPN, chief Edinen Usoroh "Government need to know that we're the major security that is well organized and registered.

"Unfortunately, over the years when crisis broke out in Plateau state Government, till date engaged stakeholders and other non state actors without recognizing us.

"We are the association of Licensed security professionals which also does consultancy services both across Nigeria and diaspora.

"The crises in Plateau state has been long overdue since 2001. Is high time for Government at all levels to focus more attention on intelligence gathering and used of technology to overcome crime and criminality", Usoroh stated.

Umar Mohammad the legal adviser of ALPSPN lamented lack of sincerity of purpose by politicians has been a major responsible of the lingering crisis in the state.

He said Government should be up and doing by prosecuting offenders devoid of sentiment on the basis of religion or ethnicity.

However, the managing director of TARMAC security  Limited and secretary General of ALPSPN Plateau State, Mr. Ipalibo acknowledged that the role of the association is enormous as they give real time intelligence.

He sue for effective collaboration between the Government and the association in changing the narratives of insecurity for development to thrive in Plateau and Nigeria as a whole.
