The Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine in the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Patrick Dakum, has carpeted the leading opposition party in Plateau, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as being no match to the ruling party at the polls at any time and any day.

Dakum made the assertion at Shendam Mini Stadium Saturday 25th September, 2021, during the APC flag-off for the local governments election campaign while responding to questions from journalists.

Dakum said the mammoth excited crowd that turned our to grace the event and with the political gurus in the state, leaves him doubt of the existence of other political party in the state. And that with the achievements recorded by the Governor Simon Bako Administration which they are giving their backing to rid off the state of criminals fanning the embers of war, have left the PDP with no chance and hope of victory at the polls.

On the issue of court ruling in case of PDP's favour to feature in the LG elections, he said it is his earnest wish that the opposition party features lest after its defeat claims exclusion from the election.

He said, "We are confident of our candidates. We are confident of our antecedents, and we will defeat the PDP anytime and any day. We are not afraid of them. I am anxious that the PDP should contest, so that by the time we defeat them, they will not claim they have not contested."

Despite being optimistic of the APC victory at the LG polls, Dakum said they will not go to sleep but will have to work harder to ensure victory at the polls. He further lauded the APC saying it believes in the development of the grassroots that was why they brought credible candidates for the LG elections.

On his ambition, he said service to humanity particularly in Plateau has endeared him to so many people who turned out em masse agitating for his aspiration to pilot the affairs of the state in 2023.
