It's quite misleading and unprofessional of some  writers to allege that the plateau state government under the title Governor Lalong cedes Jos Main Market to Islamic Bank this write up by The will Newspaper which is bad and as well is trying to disrupt the fragile peace existing in the state.

A member of the Stakeholder  Mr.Joseph while addressing journalist in Jos Said a critical look at what led the plateau state government under the Capable and able leadership of RT Hon Simon Bako lalong through the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development which is the Supervising ministry had been approached by the Bank to help Build the burnt Jos main market which has been neglected by Successive administration which led to thugs and all manner of individuals habiting the environment which has caused a security threat to the residents of the area.

He Said the state government in order to fulfill its mandate of ensuring dividends of democracy is provided swing into action by first ensuring that the debris within the market is cleared as witnessed some years back through the demolishion of some illegal structures to pave way for proper Construction work, this action prompted Jaiz bank to enter into negotiations with the state government to build the market, a project that will contain four thousand, three hundred and twenty one (4,321) shops, only one thousand seven hundred (1700), representing its 40% holding, will be owned by Plateau State during the forty (40) years covered by the agreement.

According to him the agreement entered into earlier around 2020 the deal was to be on 50/50 basics but because of cost of materials was less then but now a review was made which led to a conclusion of 60/40 agreement  which is to be done in three phases, is to be funded by Jaiz Bank, while the Plateau State government provides land, security, and enabling operational environment, as the reconstruction work is billed to be completed within twelve months.

One will wonder why the tag Islamic Bank came from because the bank is a conventional bank just like other banks across the country which was authorised by the Central bank of Nigeria to go about its lawful business then it beholds on one to wonder why the segregation based on faith besides 70 percentage of its customers are Christians who have trooped to the bank to access loans which is interest free which the writer is a customer of the bank according to information available to this medium

And in entering this agreement religious leaders as part of the Stakeholders were present while these agreement was being discussed Plateau people and some sections of the media should not play politics with the economic benefits(Source of livelihood ) he Pointed out.
