The Senate of the Plateau State University Bokkos has ratified the appointments of Professor Pyefa Moses Galadima and Associate Professor Jurji Nengak Gomos as Deputy Vice Chancellors Academic and Administration respectively.

In a press release made available to the NewsGate Magazine and signed by John K.Agam, the Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State University, Bokkos pointed out that the decision was taken during a special meeting of the Senate held at the University Senate Chambers on Tuesday 27th September 2022.

The appointments of the two Deputy Vice Chancellors take immediate effect is for two years in the first instance.

The University Senate also approved October 10,2022 as the resumption date for newly admitted Students for the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions for the continuation of registration and preparations for the commencement of lectures.

The Vice Chancellor had earlier during the meeting announced the promotion of Associate Professor Jonathan Angbas to the full Professor while Dr. Jurji Nengak Gomos and Dr. Ishaya Dashol were elavated to Associate Professors following the receipt of positive reports assessment reports on the elevated officers.

Meanwhile,the Vice Chancellor has congratulated the two Deputy Vice Chancellors and the other elavated officers and charged them to be diligent in the performance of their duties while pledging the commitment of the University Management to address welfare concerns of both staff and students as the University prepares for the restoration of normalcy in the academic calendar.

In a related development, members of the Senior Sttaff Association of Nigerian Universities, Plateau State University Bokkos branch who have been on strike have reported back to work following the recent directive of the Governing Council of the University.
