The formal launch and the flag off of the Dakum/Pwajok Plateau State Governorship Campaign of the Labour Party in Langtang North LGA of the state has sent shivers and fears to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP). This revelation was made by Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum and most respondents at the Langtang Mini Stadium, behind Langtang General Hospital on Wednesday, 21st December, 2022 before a mammoth crowd of supporters from the 17 LGAs of the state.


In his remarks, the Plateau State Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum told the generic crowd who thronged the Langtang Mini Stadium that with the official Flag off, all the National and State assembly Candidates can now commence their campaigns in full force across  the 17 LGAs, the state constituencies and the 207 federal wards in the state.


Dakum eulogized the generic crowd and busted into a song "as e de sweet us e de pain them...as e de pain dem e de sweet us". This came as a result of a multitude that could hardly contain the stadium and Langtang town.


Speaking on his discussions with His Excellency, Peter Gregory Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate on the welfare of Plateau State, Dr. Patrick Dakum hinted that wherever there is a security breach in the state, he will not only come personally but will ensure that the security architecture of Nigeria will be restructured for the betterment of humanity and good conscience devoid of conspiracies.


The Dakum/Pwajok ticket, if elected into office, Dr. Dakum hinted, shall ensure the establishment of three fertilizer blending plants, one each in the Three senatorial districts of Plateau State, being an agrirarian and a farmer's state. 

The International Public Health Physician and Scholar at the Institute of Public Health in the University of Baltimore, Maryland, USA and the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Abuja Nigeria promised to reinvigorate and improve the Health and Educational institutions in Plateau State. He said " the out of drug syndrome" shall be a thing of the past when elected under the Labour Party. Dakum said with the renovation of the primary school in his village by his wife, Ngo Sarah Yop Dakum, they will ensure delapidated structures in schools are brought to private schools if elected into office. 

Speaking on developing the mining sub-sector in Plateau when elected,Dakum said  their administration shall change the face of mining in the state with deliberate policies that will ease the issuance of mining licenses to the people of Plateau State so that they can maximally enjoy the fruits of their labour by engaging in modern mining and not the hazardous and primitive method of mining that is crucial, difficult and dangerous.


On the tourism thrust of the Consolidation For Greater Plateau Team, Dr Patrick Dakum/Hon. Edward Pwajok SAN joint ticket will ensure that Tourism is given the pride of place in the Home of Peace and Tourism by first and foremost ensuring the entrance to Plateau State from Abuja to Kaduna state, Hawan Kibo, is made a tourism site that is very beautifully attractive and magnificent because it welcomes all to Jos, the Capital of Plateau State. Hawan Kibo, Dakum re-emphasised, shall be given a special status to boast tourism under the Labour Party administration.


To the people of Langtang North LGA, Dakum promised that a functional dam shall be built not only to provide drinking water by providing running taps,but also the purpose of irrigation farming where millions of naira worth of farm produce shall be produced thereby lifting the socio economic well being of the people of the area from consumption to production levels for economic growth.


 Dakum assured that the viruses destroying Plateau State shall be healed like Barr. Edward Pwajok said. He insisted that Nigeria cannot be move forward until all Nigerian's use their PVC's properly and effectively by voting for the Labour Party to bring in the desired purposeful change the country rightfully deserved.


In conclusion, Dr. Patrick Dakum adviced the people of Plateau State to critically study and scale all the Governorship Candidates in Plateau State and they will realise that the candidacy of Dakum/Pwajok is the best combination for an International Public Health Physician and a renowned Legal Luminary who is not only a SAN but a live bencher in his chosen career, thereby making the Dakum/Pwajok the best choice in the 2023 Governorship elections if integrity, humility, competence, experience, vision and accomplishments are the yardstick for electing the best for Plateau in 2023 for economic growth, faster human and infrastructural development.


Earlier, at the Ponzhi Tarok palace , Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum told the Tarok Joint Traditional Council, headed by HRH Nimnan Langnim, the Ponzhi Gazum said Acting Chairman of the Traditional Council, who was ably represented by HRH Ponfa Bahal, the Ponzhi Bwarat that he chose to flag off the Labour Party and his Governorship Campaign in Langtang for a number of reasons which included his personal affinity with the Tarok nation, the love the Tarok man has for him personally and the Labour Party as well as the high population of Tarok sons and daughters in his Campaign trail.He equally told the palace that he will ensure that a Tarok person is given a  place of honour in his administration. 

 The elated Dakum and his entourage came to formally inform the traditional council of his entrance into the Labour Party and to seek royal blessings as he kick starts his political journey into Little Rayfield Government House by the Grace of God.


Responding, HRH Comptroller Ponfa Bahal, the Ponzhi Bwarat who stood in for the Ponzhi Zinni warmly welcomed Dr. Dakum/Pwajok SAN Campaign train to Langtang, and re echoed his stance that Plateau State has a virus, which only a virologist in the person of Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum, the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology Abuja Nigeria can provide the antidote and vaccine to cure it. The Royal Father said he is happy with the combination of Dr. Dakum, a Public Health Physician and a Legal Luminary to lead the State ( being a KOBA-Kuru Old Boys Association like with the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party). The Royal Father then prayed and blessed the Dakum/Pwajok ticket urging them to salvage the country

from misrule and maladministration so that the populace can be better again.


After leaving the Ponzhi Tarok palace, the Dakum/ Pwajok campaign train moved to Anglican Church Langtang, along Wallang Road  to meet with the Langtang North Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Dakum spoke extensively about his blue print for the people of Plateau State when elected as the Governor of Plateau under the Labour Party. As soon as the meeting was done with, the Langtang Mini Stadium was the next port of call where a mammoth crowd was waiting to receive the August visitors in December.


At the Stadium, the electrifying welcome was unprecedented in the political history of Plateau State , where hundreds of thousands of supporters were eagerly waiting for the Dakum/Pwajok campaign train.


In a Media Chat with participants at the Dakum/Pwajok Plateau State Labour Party Governorship Campaign flag of in Langtang, the NewsGate Magazine, the NewsCrest Newspaper, Ace News Online, Trust News Online, Jat HotNews Newspaper, Emerald Magazine and Frank News Magazine spoke with  Barr Gyang Zi, the Plateau North Senatorial District Candidate of the Labour Party on his assessment of the mother of all  rallies, he said “ this marks the beginning of a new dawn for Plateau State. He continued, this campaign flag off marks the beginning of victory for Labour Party from the Presidential level down to the 17 Local Government  Areas of Plateau State”. The visionary and calm Barr Gyang Zi thanked the people of Langtang North LGA and  all supporters of the Labour Party in the 17 LGAs of Plateau State for the show of love and commitment in coming out en masse to support a successful and profitable venture. He concluded that the array and calibre of Candidates presented by the Labour Party from the Plateau State House of Assembly , House of Representatives, Senatorial, Governorship and the Presidential are not only admirable, qualified but command the respect of the electorates, thus, their marketability and sellability is quite easy , therefore, the Labour Party is coasting home to victory.


Hon. Abbas Wokdung , the Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam House of Representatives Candidate of the Labour Party who declared his Campaign a day earlier in Kanam on Tuesday, 20th December, 2022 before a mammoth crowd said there is nothing stopping the LP from clinching the PKK ticket for House of Representatives  in 2023 considering the massive decamping from the  APC and the  PDP to the LP.

Barr Joseph B Bigwan,the Labour Party House of Representatives Candidate for Bokkos/Mangu described the gathering as a Tsunami waiting to happen on the Plateau. He urged the electorates to vote in all Labour Party Candidates from bottom to top.


Hon. Nuhu Gagara , the Chairman of the Media and Publicity of the Campaign flag off Committee described the event as unprecedented in the recent times as the turn out was not just massive but generic. He described the dual ticket of Dakum /Pwajok as the finest in Nigerian Political space as 2023 General Elections draw nearer.


Chief Maichibi Vwarji, the Chairman of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the Campaign flag off described the event as not only successful but very intimidating to the ruling party and other opposition parties in the  state. Vwarji said with the quality of supporters and leaders of the state joining the LP daily , victory is certain.


An Independent Research Team's report made available to the Media described the Campaign activity score card of the LP flag off in Langtang North on the 21st December, 2022 and the Dakum/Pwajok joint ticket as very impressive. It scored the punctuality to the stadium at 55%, take - off from Jos to Langtang at 95%, Appearance with spouses at 95%, Vision and Mission Statement at Palace 80%, CAN Officials 78% and stadium 84%, Targeted audience concentration at Palace 70% , CAN 74% and Stadium 84%. 


The research report indicated that in recent history of politics, it has never seen and observed crowd that gave high level of concentration to listen to the Candidate making presentation as recorded in Langtang on the 21st December, 2022. 


It was also observed that the rush for distribution of the Programme of Event, the booklet "Dakum and the Quest for Consolidation", Fliers to educate voters on the LP Logo and other LP campaign materials by supporters are unprecedented.
