A group, Plateau state Indigenous Muslim Association, have vowed to support the governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and his administration.

Chairman of the association, Alhaji Ibrahim Pam, said this in Jos on Thursday while addressing a press conference.

He said the resounding victory of the March 18 election was an indication of the believe the people had in his capacity to take the state to greater heights.

“We the Indigenous Muslim Community in Plateau state want to specially  congratulate the governor elect and his deputy as the elected team to lead our dear state to glory.

“We prayed and sought for God’s intervention and today, our cry for hope has given birth to the actualisation of our dream.

“The victory at the polls was resounding from southern, central and northern Plateau, we identify with the victories of our national and state legislative members.

“We assure you of our total support and loyalty in your effort to recover and rebuild a new Plateau.

“Our able candidates that weren’t victorious at the polls are not losers, but the heroes Democracy,” he said.

The group appealed to the incoming administration led by Mutfwang to govern the state with love and wisdom, embracing citizens irrespective of faith or tribe.  

It also observed that there were attempt by some miscreants on social media to foment trouble on the basis of religion in the state.

Pam advised the incoming government to fish out such elements and allow the cause of the law to take effect.

He stated that the Indigenous Muslims will not submit to the architects of conflict adding that religion should be a factor for unity peace and development.

He cautioned their wards not to allow anybody use them for their personal gains at the detriment of their future, as the state anticipate a brighter future under the incoming administration.

The group charged the incoming governor to operate an open door policy not just on people but also on ideas, faiths and from other parties.
