The Plateau State Government has shut down six illegal foreign private institutions in Jos.
State Commissioner of Education, Kachollom Gang, led the Taskforce to seal the Schools saying their operation is unknown to the Government and Nigeria curriculum.
The Six Private Institutions sealed by the Plateau state Government are God's Love Victory Assured Academy, Greenery Training and Services Site Limited, Evangelical Divine Academy, kellyfills Institute, Alpha Idea Centre for Languages Initiatives as well as International School Foreign Language and Linguistics all in Jos North Local Government Area,
Addressing Journalists and Security agencies at Joseph Gomwolk Secretariat before the exercise, State Commissioner of Education, Kachollom Gang said the schools failed to meet the necessary accreditation requirements set by the Government.
Kachollom Gang emphasized the importance of adhering to regulatory standards, ensuring that institutions provide quality education and maintain the integrity of the education system.
During the exercise, the Permanent secretary in the Ministry Sadiya Yaro noted that the move aims to protect students from sub-standard educational institutions and uphold the quality of education in Plateau State.
Director of Quality Assurance in the Ministry, Sabastine John said the crackdown is part of government's efforts to maintain educational standards and prevent the proliferation of illegal institutions.
Students of the Private institutions are from Chad, Cameroon,Togo, and Senegal which also lack inclusivity and poses a threat to security.
