The Deputy Governor of  Plateau State, Mrs Josephine Piyo has called for the support and cooperation of the Nigerian Air Force towards ending the rising security challenges in the State. 

Piyo made the appeal while receiving the Air Officer Commanding, Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Usman Abdullahi, on behalf of the Gov. Caleb Mutfwang in Jos on Thursday. 

She said that the state had enjoyed good relationship with the Air Force in the past, and appreciated them for their contribution to the peace efforts in the state. 

The Deputy Governor also commended the Air Force for citing some of its schools in the state, stating that the institutions have impacted the lives of children in the state. 

The Air Officer Commanding, Ground Training, AVM Usman Abdulahi, pledged the Force’s support of and determined efforts to make Plateau state peaceful and a suitable ground for socio-economic development and investment to thrive.

Abdulahi also appreciated the state government for housing its military schools and supporting them in different ways, adding that his team were in Plateau to witness the first graduation and prize giving day of the school in 20 years since it returned to a military status. 

He promised a robust collaboration with the state government towards achieving lasting peace in the state.
