Plateau State Commissioner of commerce and industry, Hon. Musa Sule has said that attention must be focus towards reviving the state owned companies for effective revenue mobilization and economic growth.

Sule who is the former council chairman of Bassa Local Government in the state, acknowledged that revitalizing industrialization sector would go a long way in curtailing the state over-dependence on monthly subvention from government at the center.

The new Plateau commissioner for commerce and industry who spoke to newsmen over the weekend in Jos the state capital, described his appointment alongside 18 others as a divine called to serve the state, saying " I am ready and willing to contributes my quota to the development of Plateau.

"When you look at states like; Lagos, Rivers and the rest of them they don't relay on monthly allocation that is coming from the Federation account because of the industrialization in those states.

"There was a time Lagos state was denied Local Government subvention and state allocation but they survived because of the level of industrialization in Lagos.

"So, given this ministry I think we will advised government to revive some of the companies owned by the state government like; the Back farms, Jos International Breweries (JIB) and the rest of them so that we will boost our internally generated revenue (IGR) to stop relaying solemnly on the monthly allocation and subvention from Federal Government", he mentioned.

On what Plateau citizens should expect under Governor Caleb Mutfwang led administration, Sule revealed that " for those that have been following the trend of events, you assessed the government best on what they meet on ground and were able to do to improve in the quality of life of the citizens.

"What this government meet on ground is something that Plateau people need to come together in unity and pray. Look at how our state has become so poorost in terms of security. We need to come together as a people, prayed for the government, be united, put our heads together because success cannot come in a day.

"We have to struggle, work hard and gradually Plateau people seeing the calibre of man at the helm of affair, we have hope and believe he is going to deliver his mandate to the good people of Plateau state."
