The National Working Committee (NWC) of All Progressive Congress (APC) tasked security agencies to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the publicity secretary of the party in Plateau state, Hon.Sylvanus Namang.

APC national body also charged security personnel to be diligent in conducting investigation and ensure perpetrators of such heinous crime face the wrath of the law.

The APC National Working Committee delegation led by the Vice Chairman North, Alhaji Abubakar Dawuri made the statement while in a condolence visit at the APC Secretariat and late Sylvanus Namang resident in Jos the state capital on Thursday.

"We are here as the members of the National working committee of the APC to condole with the good people of Plateau state, the family and our party (APC) over a dastardly murdered of our dear beloved state publicity secretary, Hon.Sylvanus Namang who was brutally cut down in his prime. 

"We are sad over this lost.It is because of that that were here to condole his family, party faithfuls and also to the good people of Plateau and to also prayed for the reposed of his soul. 

"We are calling on all the security agencies to ensure that they unravel the mystery behind this evil occurrence and they should bring perpetrators to book very speedily."

On the issued of 17 Local Government chairmen that were suspended by Governor Caleb Mutfwang over financial misappropriation in which the matter is before Honourable Justice Samchi at the Plateau State High Court, and also 15 candidates of APC that got judgment from the Court of Appeal and yet to be sworn in.

The party's National working committee said were fully aware as they put machinery in motion to ensure the matters were resolved, calling the party faithfuls in the state to remain calm.

Recalled, the speaker Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan when the House resumed from the two months recess on 23rd January, 2024, said they were served with court injunction to stop the inauguration of the 16 members.

He said 32 persons are claiming the ownership of 16 existing vacant seats of the House, noting that they are waiting for the interpretation of the Court to enable the House do the needful.

Earlier, the state chairman of APC in Plateau, Hon. Rufus Bature told the delegation that they are disturbed and demystified when they heard the demised of their mouthpiece (Hon. Namang).

He said the circumstance of his death is so painful and it is cleared indication that nobody safe, urged party loyalists to be vigilant always.
