Former majority leader of Plateau State House of Assembly, Ishaku Maren has joined the race for chairmanship position in the forthcoming coming councils elections in Plateau.

Maren, who is contesting for Bokkos chairmanship seat was part of the PDP 10th state Assembly Lawmakers that were sacked by the Appeal Court sometimes in November, 2023.

Our correspondent gathered that Maren's nomination of interest form was purchased by his former 10th Assembly colleagues.

Presenting the form at PDP state Secretariat in Jos on Thursday, former deputy speaker, Rt. Hon.Dalyop Fom Gwalsong, revealed they painstakingly secured the form for Ishaku Maren to contest because they had a strong believed and conviction he can provide effective governance at the grassroot.
"Were glad to be here this morning, those of us at the 10th Assembly we called ourselves displaced Lawmakers but were not deter rather we remained focus.

"The choice of Ishaku Maren to spearhead affairs of Bokkos LGA is very strategic taking into cognizant his leadership prowess while in the legislative arm of government."

While receiving a nomination of interest form, Maren appreciates Governor Caleb Mutfwang, PDP family, his colleagues, and the entire Bokkos people, assuring to run inclusive governance if the given the party ticket.

He said, " we will ensure the actualization of The Time Is Now mantra in the nocks and crannies of Bokkos LGA by the special grace of God. I will make sure I unite the party in the locality, so that there wound be any party of  sectionalism in Bokkos and where all of us will be one. We will meant all the fences where our families and common ground will be PDP.
"By the grace of God if this ticket is giving to me victory is assured because we have the masses at heart and were out to served the masses. I want to assured the people of Bokkos local government that I will be a good ambassador, the servant of the people where we will carry our burden together. God willing we will drive Bokkos LGA to the desire destination.

"To me, this noble gesture is an oil to my knee. And to whom much is giving much is expected. So, thank you Governor Caleb Mutfwang, thank you my colleagues, thank PDP family, and thank you the good people of Bokkos LGA and God bless Plateau state..."

Recall Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) had slated 9th October, 2024, for the conduct of chairmanship and counselors elections across the 17 local councils of Plateau.

PLASIEC also intimated political parties to conduct their party primaries on or before 8th August, 2024.
