Dr. Joshua Rijti, chairmanship       aspirant for Bassa LGA

Aspirant seeking for chairmanship position in Bassa local government, Dr. Joshua Rijti in the forthcoming Plateau state local government elections has expressed determination and resilience to inject positive development at the grassroot.

Rijti revealed Bassa local government has witnessed decades of underdevelopment since its creation about 48 years ago.

He made this known on Wednesday while speaking to newsmen at the PDP state Secretariat in Jos shortly after picking a nomination of interest form.

On what informed his decision to joined the race for chairmanship, Dr. Joshua Rijti, said, "I discovered that Bassa is 48 years old now. It was promulgated and established in 1976 local government reform and there is nothing to show in Bassa in terms of development.

"That is what really promoted me to joined this race to unite the people of Bassa and bring development. My carrisma and antecedents speaks volume for me.And by the grace of God I am ahead of other contestants.

"When I come on board my first agenda is to unite the people so that we can speak with one voice as a people. We will find a particular day where all tribes in Bassa would come together and celebrate our rich cultural heritage. Then from there we can stretch our tentacles in initiating other developmental programs that would endanger dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroot."
