Hon. Samuel Dala Umaru, TIC chairman Jos North LGA receiving a nomination of interest form to contest chairmanship position

Ahead of the 9th October, 2024 dateline for the conduct of local government elections in Plateau state, Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman, Jos North local government council, Hon. Samuel Dala Umaru has stated that a clarion called requesting him to contest is a testament to provide more dividends of democracy to humanity.

Umaru made the assertion on Wednesday when hundreds of youths under the aegis of Jos North PDP Concerned Youths Forum alongside other well wishes troops in to the council Secretariat and presented to him a nomination of interest form for chairmanship position.

A youths group led by the council's deputy TIC chairman, Hon. Mubarak Bilal said the reason why they endorsed and secured nomination form for Hon.Umaru to join the race born out of his antecedents recorded within shortest time in office.

"Hon. Umaru has demonstrated leadership capacity. Based on that trajectory were drumming support for him contest and continues moving Jos North at the right direction."

Accepting a nomination form to contest the election, Umaru acknowledged that "for the work we have started, we have not done a lot, we have not reached our destination but I feel this is a called for us to reach our destination."

He promised not to disappoint the good people of the locality if giving the mandate serve.

"This presentation have come from all communities and religion in Jos North, and that have shown that we must continued to live in peace and unite with one another irrespective of our diversity. 

"No matter how different we are in terms of religion or ethnicity that should not divide us because God did not make a mistake of creating Muslim, Christians or traditional worshippers. I enjoined all of us to continue to live in peace  because it is through living in peace with one another that we would get the dividends of democracy that we desire."

While expressing gratitude to  Governor Caleb Mutfwang, PDP for availing him the opportunity of serving the masses at the grassroot, the TIC chairman appreciates his deputy and management team for their immense contributions.

Turning to media, he said Journalists were proactive in reporting activities of Mutfwang led administration and Jos North local government council in positive light.

"I encouraged you to keep the momentum. And please where were not doing well you can call our attention because you have that mandate, making sure that we adjust and provide good leadership and governance for the people at the grassroot."

"Therefore, I am dedicating this nomination form for the services of people of Jos North to the glory of God Almighty", Umaru concluded.
