A one-day training session for staff of the Registry Department at Plateau State University, Bokkos, has come to a close. The training concluded with a charge to staff to demonstrate commitment to their scheduled duties, in line with the vision of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shedrack Best, to make the university a center of excellence in teaching and research.

The Registrar of the university, Yakubu Ayuba, declared the workshop open and emphasized the importance of the Registry staff, describing them as the "oil that greases the wheels of administration" in the institution. He highlighted that the training, which is the first in a series of in-house trainings for the Registry Department staff, aims to enhance their skills for improved administrative services within the university.

Ayuba reminded the staff of the need for ethical conduct and outlined the university's plans for continuous training and retraining to keep them up-to-date with modern administrative realities.
The training featured presentations on various topics, including "Minute and Report Writing" by Principal Confidential Secretary, Registrar's Office, Leah Datong, who elaborated on the techniques of minute writing and report writing. Additionally, the Registrar, Yakubu Ayuba, presented a paper on "Writing of Memorandum" also known as memo.

The training session is expected to have a positive impact on the staff of the Registry Department, enabling them to deliver more effective administrative services and contribute to the university's goal of becoming a center of excellence.
