Senator representing Plateau North at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang has issued out letters of appointment to no fewer than 160 persons who will assist him carry out his legislative duties at a brief ceremony held at the Won Hotel in Trade Centre, Kuru, Jos South LGA.


Senator Dachungyang reminded the new appointees that their selection is not meant to serve him, but to serve the people of the six local governments making up Plateau North.


The Distinguished Senator explained that the appointments would have come before now, but for the need to ensure equal distribution of positions and balancing across the Northern Senatorial District, so that no section is left behind.


Senator Dachungyang therefore admonished the appointees to put in their best in the discharge of assigned responsibilities so that the people can reap maximally from his stewardship at the National Assembly.


He equally used the opportunity to solicit for genuine advice, support and cooperation to better the lot of the people of the zone adding that his doors are always open to listen to ideas that will help in the discharge of his legislative responsibilities.


Chairman of the Action Democratic Party in Plateau State, Hon. Bitrus Boyi Ngah while describing Senator Dachungyang as a different breed of politician whose politics he says is people oriented, adviced the appointees to be loyal to the ideals of the ADP as well as work assiduously for the emergence of its candidates in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.


The breakdown of the appointments show that 5 have been stationed at the National Assembly, 6 Liaison Officers covering the six local governments, 11 Special Advicers, 18 Administrative Staff, 25 Senior Special Assistants, 91 Special Assistants and 2 Personal Assistants.
