The youth group under the aegis of the conference of autochthonous ethnic communities development association (CONECDA), has commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for assented a bill establishing North Central Development Commission (NCDC).
For CONECDA, the signing of the bill mark a significant milestone in the annals of North central Nigeria as the region suffered decades of marginalization.
The youth group who consistently continuous advocating for the survival of middle belt region, said, the establishment of the commission if properly implemented will go a long way in addressing food security, youth and women empowerment and enhance economic development.

Comrade Paul Joshua Dekete, CONECDA National President and National Youths Coordinator Comrade Peter Abin Bahu.
According to the statement, the Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic Communities Development Association (CONECDA) Youth Wing receives with great joy the news of the assent given to the North Central Development Commission Bill by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
"This development is highly commendable, as the new Commission will see to the improvement and speedy development of the North Central region of the country which has suffered neglect over the years in the areas of infrastructure, human capital development and the our environment.
"We appreciate the National Assembly for passing the bill some months back, and all stakeholders who rallied round to support the bill leading to it's assent on Tuesday 5th February,2025 by the President.
"We also appeal to Mr. President to appoint competent hands that will run the affairs of the Commission towards the attainment of the set objectives of thus new commission in the interest of our people.
"On our part as the youth wing of the sociocultural organization of the ethic Autochthons in the region, we want to assure you that we shall continue to support policies that are geared towards the growth and development of our people, the region and the entire country at all time your Excellency.
