Hon. Stephen Pwajok Gyang together with heads of security agents during a condolence visit
The Executive Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council,Hon. Stephen Pwajok Gyang, has led delegation on a condolence visit to the family of late Alh. Adamu Muhammed, who was murdered by unknown gunmen on 19th March, 2025.
The visit was attended by various dignitaries which includes; the PDP chairman of Barkin-Ladi, Honourable Pam Choji, former Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Honourable Sarah Yusuf, the Deputy Chairman of Barkin-Ladi, the Secretary to the Local Government Council, and other top government officials.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued to Acenews online blog on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State capital by the press secretary to the council chairman of Barkin-Ladi, Mercy Yop Chuwang.
Conveying his heartfelt condolence to the deceased family, the council chairman said: "I am deeply saddened by the loss of Alh. Adamu Muhammed, who was a special adviser to my administration. His demise is a great loss to our administration and the people of Barkin-Ladi.
"Adamu was a man of great integrity, who always stood for the truth. I share in the pain of his father and sympathize with the entire family", Gyang noted.
PDP chairman of Barkin-Ladi, Pam Choji expressed deep shock and pain, stating that Adamu's death was heartbreaking as his loyalty to the party is beyond measure. However, former commissioner ministry of women affairs, Sarah Yusuf described Adamu as someone who always stood for the truth.
Barkin-Ladi Liaison officer to the Governor of Plateau State, Hon. Philip Jwe, encouraged people to emulate Adamu's virtues and prayed for the family to receive comfort during their time of grief.
Also sympathizing with family of the deceased, former chairman of Barkin-Ladi LGA, Hon. Emmanuel Loman mentioned that Adamu had worked with him during his tenure as chairman noting that, during a crisis in the local government, Adamu had stood for peace and truth.
"It was unfortunate that someone of Adamu's calibre would die in such a manner. I hoped that Adamu's death would bring more unity among the people of Barkin Ladi", Loman stated.
Meanwhile, the deputy chairman of Miyetti Allah in Barkin-Ladi, Alh. Tambari Gizo, described Adamu's demise as "selfless", and recalled his role in bringing lasting peace to the locality. He encouraged the council Chairman to maintain the bond of unity between the administration and the people.
Adamu's father, Alh. Adam Mohammed, expressed gratitude for the show of love and unity, praising his late son as faithful, meek, and humble. He encouraged people not to stop living for the truth and to always stand for what is right.
The late Alhaji Adamu Muhammed was a special adviser to the local government chairman on revenue, a chairman of Miyetti Allah Barkin-Ladi, and a devoted PDP stakeholder. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
