Plateau State Chief Judge, His Lordship Justice David Mann has extend heart of gratitude for esteemed retiring staff of the State's Judiciary which marks the culmination of their years of dedication, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law.

Justice Mann gave the commendation during the occasion of a two day workshop for retiring staff of the Plateau State Judiciary on pre-retirement training, organized by the Plateau State High Court in conjunction with the University of Jos Consultancy Limited, held at the Conference Hall of the New High Court Complex, Jos, from Monday 10th to Tuesday 11th February, 2025.

Represented by the Chief Registrar Plateau State High Court, Barr. Andrawus Maikai Kam, the CJ confirmed that the two workshop focused on equipping retiring staff of the State's judiciary to plan for a better lifetime after exiting active service.

The Chief Registrar hinted that the tireless efforts of the retiring officials have contributed immensely to the growth and efficiency of the judicial system ensuring fairness, integrity and the protection of the rights of the people of Plateau State. He reiterated that the impact of the services of the retiring officials will continue to inspire both colleagues and the next generation of judicial officers and staff. 

Barr.Kam, the hardworking and visionary administrator advised that as the retiring staff step into the new chapter of life, the Judiciary celebrates their achievements and sacrifices and not to be depressed. He wished them a retirement filled with joy, peace, fulfilment and happiness. He urged the retiring staff to enjoy the fruits of their labour even as they continue to inspire others through wisdom and knowledge. 

The Chief Registrar described the workshop as apt and timely, hence the retiring staff should be focused, learn and take advantage from what the resource persons will impact them with for the two days. He profusely thanked the retiring staff for those whose lives they have touched and wished thema healthy, prosperous and a rewarding retirement. 

Barr. Hauwa Lami Temine,the General Manager of the University of Jos Consultancy Limited acknowledged the "Pre-Retirement for staff of the Plateau State High Court ".

Barr.Temine revealed that "This workshop comes at a critical juncture in your lives as you approach retirement. Retirement is an inevitable phase of life that should not be approached with trepidation or with a sense dread.Rather, it should be embraced with gratitude for being alive to see the retirement and gracefully enter a new phase of life bearing many years of experience that you can still impact positively to the society".

She further explained that the workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from industry experience share best practices and develop impactful strategies to address these critical challenges. 

The GM of UniJos Consultancy Ltd took a moment to introduce the host of the workshop, saying the UniJos Consultancy Ltd is a subsidiary of the University of Jos established in 1982 with a mission to support the University financially through various commercial ventures. 

She said they operates across diverse sectors including Academic Programme, Manufacturing and Production as well as Real Estate. The company is located in Jos South Local Government Area, directly opposite COCIN Church, Abattoir, Jos. Called on Nigerians to patronize the UniJos Consultancy Ltd for workshops and training programmes not only to gain valuable knowledge but to contribute to the continued success of the University of Jos. 

Papers presented at the Pre-retirement workshop included Entrepreneurship/Investment Option and Risk Management; Health and Wellness in Retirement; Psychological Preparation for Ret;Technology Skills for Reirees;Social Security and other Government Programmes;Time Management and Finding Purpose in Retirement and Legal Aspects of Retirement and Estate Planning. 

Some resource persons at the workshop were Dr Victor Kuchili, Mr Emmanuel Madugu of the University of Jos and Barr Hauwa Lami Temine, the General Manager of UniJos Consultancy Ltd amongst others.
