The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Hon. John Kyohroh Christopher has joined worshippers at Saint Murumba Catholic Church, Jos, for the Easter Mass celebration as he extended heartfelt greetings to parishioners and people of the area.
The Chairman highlighted the significance of Easter as a time of hope, renewal, and reflection on the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ. He assured the congregation of his administration’s continues commitment to providing basic social amenities and implementing policies aimed at alleviating the plight of citizens.
Christopher who was accompanied by the Council's Secretary, Pharmacist Samuel Gyang and his Special Adviser, David Ajang Arin reiterated his commitment to continue working closely with the Church and other religious bodies to promote peace, unity, and brotherhood in the spirit of Christ's teachings.
He used the occasion to condemned the recent violent attacks in Bassa and Bokkos Local Government Areas, describing them as unwarranted and inhumane. He prayed that God would expose and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous acts.
In his Easter homily, Very Rev. Father Cyril Deshi emphasized the need for peace, love, and reconciliation. He appreciated the Chairman for worshiping with the church and assured him of the Church's support and continuous prayers for the success of his administration and that of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
The celebration was made more joyful with soul-lifting songs by the Church Choir,which spiced up the event.
