The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Plateau State Chapter, has distance itself from the purported notice of plan party unveiling in the state.
The party said such misinformation is a handy work of mischief makers who bent on sabotaging ADC and misleading the public.
A statement signed and issued to Acenews online on Sunday in Jos the state capital by Silas Audu Wettok, the publicity secretary of the party in Plateau, urged ADC loyalists and the general public to disregard such fake information.
Wettok said the party executives are working assiduously to unmask perpetrators of the illegal act.
Below is the statement in parts:
"It has come to the attention of the Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Plateau State Chapter, that a notice is being circulated regarding the planned unveiling of the party in the State.
"We wish to state categorically and for the record that the ADC has not, and is not, the author or sponsor of this notice.
"The said notice and its contents are entirely fraudulent, unauthorized, and the party is not associated with the event or information it purports to announce and should be disregarded.
"The African Democratic Congress (ADC) follows a strict and official protocol for all its activities, including state-level inaugurations and events.
"We are currently investigating the source of this misleading information and will take all necessary steps to address this infringement on our party's name and integrity.
"The general public, our esteemed Party members, and the media are hereby advised to:
1. Ignore the fraudulent notice and always verify all information directly from our official ADC channels before publication or dissemination.
2. Report any similar unauthorized communications to the State Party's Secretariat or the National Headquarters, Abuja.
"The ADC Plateau State Chapter bears no responsibility for any activities, announcements, or engagements related to this unauthorized communication."
