The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has confirmed that the party officially recognized Hon.Sam Gyang as the state chapter Chairman by the National working committee (NWC) meeting held in Abuja.

The Publicity Secretary of the State, Hon Silas Audu Wettok in an exclusive interview with our correspondent held at the polo club on Friday in Jos made the clarification.

He said, he was elected by the state congress in 2022 which brought together all the state exco including the present state chairman of the party Hon Sam Gyang  and he stated that when the NWC elevated Hon. Hanatu Gagara  as the zonal women leader through the recent party coalition she accepted to cheer the position .

Wettok clarified  that the  Former Minister for  Sports and Youth Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung has never brought Sam Gyang as the state  chairman but the  rectification order was done   by the NWC which Hon Hanatu Gagara graciously accepted the position of the zonal women leader  .

He stated that following the coalition that brought many personalities into the ADC so as it is    every political party has a structure but in Plateau State  Barr. Solomon Selcap Dalung  is the leader now who leading the party to victory come 2027 .

According to him, he described Solomon Dalung as a great  unbiased party  leader  and his unwavering   commitment to strengthen the party without any sentiment attached is what attracting many politicians to join ADC .

He explained further  that anyone trying to rubbish or accusing him is doing so on a personal sentiment and  as a party we are not going to tolerate it, we don't want the repeat of PDP incident of 2023 in Plateau State chapter.

We are clarifying that the NWC comprising of six members in Abuja mandated the North Central zonal office  under the leadership of Vice Chairman  Senator Tunde Obeghier to find a way out and on the  14/10/2025 there was a critical stakeholders meeting  held in Abuja  and in that meeting  the national leader constituted  another six man committee to reconcile and resolve factional issues.

Wettok noted that the resolving  the leadership crises in Plateau, and Niger states of  which that committee was headed by the National Deputy Chairman  of the ADC in person of  Sen. Patricia Kwashiki and that committee was given two weeks  to submit it reports  on the 28/10/2025 and the committee invited the affected members of the states at the meeting .

However, the reconciliation was concluded that the party decision should remain supreme that no one who was elected by the congress should be change they should all return and complete all their tenure inscript by article 18 of ADC constitution.

He maintained that base on the outcome of the reconciliation at the floor of the meeting  that is why the state chapter leadership of the ADC stakeholders agreed to obey the order not that Barr. Solomon Dalung is using his position to suppress anyone  in Plateau State  .

We had elders state chapter meeting at the Former Minister Dalung house and we discussed extensively the same issue on what happened with the Niger state between Alh Ibrahim Musa who was asked to go back to his office since he was elected   .

Wettok reiterated that the congress endorsed through coalition that all elected officials of the party would not be temper with  including those that were suspended  by the  former leadership were asked to return back to their various offices.

He added that the party did so as to avoid  litigation  within the party structure  just like what happened to Plateau State PDP.

Wettok clarified that the former minister Barr Solomon Dalung doesn't suppress neither impose any decisions by taking side with any group but he is following  the appropriate guidelines that was rectified by NWC in Abuja.

He said that Hon Sam Gyang is the authentic chairman of ADC in Plateau State chapter and we don't have any faction within the state so we are calling on our peace loving party supporters to disregard voice of blackmail .
