The Senator representing Plateau Northern senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Pam Mwadkwon Dachungyang, has vehemently debunk allegations peddle against him over withheld salaries of sacked appointees.
Recalled, recently Senator Dachungyang who is the chairman senate committee on tourism relief over 170 aides from their duties.
The development which generate reactions within Plateau Northern zone and beyond.
Also on the 2nd January, 2026, a group under the aegis of Plateau Youths Council (PYC), Northern zone led by their coordinator, comrade Samson Chiroma, raised alarm where they expressed disappointment and concern over what they described as " poor representation by Senator Dachungyang with little to no impact on the lives of his constituents".
Speaking to newsmen at NUJ secretariat in Jos on Thursday, Senator Dachungyang alluded to the fact that yes he terminated the appointments of some of his aides because they were many.
"I terminated the appointments of some of my aides because they were many. Even before relieving from their duties towards the end December, 2025, I empowered them.It is the matter of go and wait. So none of them owed me a dime", the senator stated.
Dachungyang also acknowledged he is not yet two years in office at the upper chamber of the National Assembly as he expressed unwavering determination and commitment to continue to push for the betterment of his constituents.
According to him, "in the Red chamber, there is no basis for comparison among ourselves because we all came from different political, social, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
"We are all senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and we see ourselves so.
"Senators don't execute projects. We only inspect projects executed by Executive arm of government on oversight capacity.
"Where you see a legislator doing any project, is a kind gesture from the Executive to the farmer's constituency. Ot is not a right but a mere privileged given by the Executive and it is highly accounted for. What I get I give it out too", Senator Dachungyang mentioned.
